• James K. Polk Memorial Historical Site - Pineville is the birthplace  of  Pres. James Polk and is a suburb of Charlotte 
• Kings Mountain National Park - 2005 Marks the 225th Anniversary of the Battle of Kings Mountain (Revolutionary War)
• Andrew Jackson State Park Lancaster, S.C. is the birthplace of Pres. Andrew Jackson
