Notes:
A sampling of our back and forth in essential question development:
In accepting the basic principles of brain-based learning, the traditional--and even fairly "modern"--media center would need to make some major changes in its policies. While some of the traditional practices (such as no talking)are not supportive of the brain-friendly environment, they can be necessary evils. How does the media specialist blend the two schools of thought?Much of the research indicates that many educators seem to resist the practices of brain-based learning. In your opinion, why is this such a difficult concept to embrace?
Something with some complexity, possibly the major points of a brain-based program?
I really like the media center one. I think it would take both a conceptual and factual framework and understanding to answer it and the second question as well.
What about something from the educators view? Maybe: Youve just been introduced to theories in brain-based learning. Citing specific concepts of this research, how might you implement some of these practices into your classroom teaching?
And, more and more and more.?
