1.First, you will be assigned to one of seven groups. Each group will represent one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Group #1:

Great Pyramid at Giza;
Group #2 :
the
Hanging Gardens of Babylon;
Group #3:
the
Temple of Artemis at Ephesus;
Group #4:
the
Statue of Zeus at Olympia:
Group #5:
the
Mausoleum at Halicarnassus;
Group #6:
the
Colossus of Rhodes; and
Group#7:
the
Pharos at Alexandria .
2. Each group will select a recorder. See Step # 4.
3. Each group member will research the group's Wonder and individually answer the following questions:
Where is your ancient Wonder located? What country?
When was your Wonder constructed/built?
Describe your Wonder in detail. (Size, shape, texture,
color, etc.)
What kind of material is/was your Wonder made of?
Why was your Wonder constructed/built?
How long did it take to build your Wonder?
Is your Wonder still standing? If not, how and when was it
destroyed?
What made it a Wonder? In other words, what information did you uncover while you were doing your research to justify why it was called a Wonder.
4. Your individual groups will discuss your findings. Each of your groups will come to a consensus as to the answers to the above questions. The recorder will record the answers and then report the group's finding to the rest of the class.

6. Each of you need to visit your school or local public library and use one (1) print resource to get information about your group's Wonder. Your print resource may be an encyclopedia, a book, or a magazine.
